Are you interested in learning more about cancer research? Are you hoping to become involved in cancer research during one of your co-op placements? Do you want to learn more about what it’s like working in a wet lab or clinical research environment?
On Thursday, January 23rd from 7:00 – 9:30 pm, the McMaster Science Careers & Experience Centre (formally known as SCCE) has partnered with McMaster’s Relay for Life to host a panel speaker and networking event, hosting prominent McMaster professors, graduate and undergraduate students involved in oncology research. Students will have the chance to attend a guided panel event, where researchers will share more on the focus of their research, their motivation and path for pursuing oncology research, tips for new researchers and insight into what working in a research environment can look like. Students will then have the opportunity to network with various upper-year co-op students as well as graduate students who have completed placements, thesis projects, or have volunteered in an oncology-focused research setting.
To attend the event, please register through OSCAR+. We will be asking student for a $5 donation at the door (cash, debit/credit and tap excepted) to attend the event, with 100% of the proceeds donated directly to the Canadian Cancer Society. These donations will help support an organization that is helping to fund the research initiatives such as the ones you will hear about during this event!
