Speakers:
Dr. Amanda Veri is the Manager of the Office of Research Trainees at UHN, where she oversees initiatives designed to cultivate an outstanding training environment for approximately 1,300 students and postdoctoral researchers. Amanda holds a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Biomedical Sciences from McMaster University, where her participation in the co-op program was instrumental in shaping her career path. She later earned her PhD in Molecular Genetics from the University of Toronto.
Alexandria Mansfield is a fifth-year student in the Biochemistry, Biomedical Research Specialization and Co-op Program studying at McMaster University. After working as a genetic counselling assistant at SickKids during her first co-op placement, she is now completing her second work term as a research assistant with the Cancer Rehabilitation and Survivorship Program at Princess Margaret (PM) Cancer Centre at UHN. Her current projects have been focused on helping to optimize the transition for PM patients to follow-up care and supporting ongoing research studies dedicated to understanding and improving the quality of life of cancer survivors.
